Mat Magic

Ole Salty's

Once upon time, on a cold and frosty morning, two mat riders ventured out onto a uncharted Island in search of quality, down the line waves .....watch video below to see what they found

Seal Rescue

After a getting out, havepost surf  coffee & yak, back to the carpark where we were asked to render some assistance to a baby seal that was caught tangled with a fishing net, and with the recent large swells, washed into and tangled amongst the coastal bushes.

Mats & Spoons

The following day we took one of Neal Cameron's carbon spoons out for a ride, not enough swell or grunt , but still plenty of fun and laughs with just the two of us out riding waves.

Vale Stubbie Paipo

The Stubbie , pictured below without deckgrip, met its demise last week at Mat Cove, after catching a few waves prone, I started to ride a few on my knees.....well it finally split clean in my hands as I was taking off . After a intensive inspection from its owner ( who was crying quiet loudly and cursing my name) we both came to the same conclusion that using timber with a 'pretty knott ' in its grain, might en be a real great idea apart from the cosmetic value.

RIP.
