The Good , the Bad and the Ugly

 Snooky Simpson

Its been raining non stop for days , so when Thursday arrived , and with it a nice solid swell starting marching into Jervis Bay......

The Ugley

It was still pissing down in Husky when I pulled into the pub carpark to check out Sailors, and as usual ,there was a  hardy crew of surfers out there enjoying? the conditions on hand

I found Slats and Mygod sitting in the car watching the Outer Bombi , with Albert getting changed and Chayne still out there reliving his youth....it was wet and windy, with plenty of burnings happening down the line at Sailors....so I looked back across to Moona Creek.....yuk

The Bad

I decided to give this a miss ( I must be getting old) and come back mid morning to see if the conditions had improved , and when I checked out Moona again and found it half clean and with only one other young surfer out...i'm out there.

...well for six waves , and then freaking onshore decided to blow again ....time to check out a few other places in the Bay!

Boatramp had its usual crew of young frother's on it

Plantation had all the SUP's

and the Outer Bombi was starting to clean up as well...

After one last check and with the next rain front about to drown us again, I decided to call it quits till the next morning and head home....bad mistake, it really cleaned up and started to pump after the last rain storm, luckly Slat's was able to get back down and record some of the action, and his son Mark was there also for the last 30 minutes of daylight

The Next Morning

Back to Moona to see if there was still swell around...and the Sun was out!!
It had dropped a few feet and the swell was forcasted to swing around to the East a bit, so when I only saw 2 guys out and nice clean condtions, I was out there for a quick surf and then back to work...well that was what I thought anyways...

Robbie was there to greet me when I got out of the water, and mention another spot that was cranking with nobody out, so with a quick stop at the pie shop for food and coffee, we were off on our next adventure!

A few more pics from the last 3 days below.

  1. Some classic pictures. more inspiring stuff fortunatley we had a big clean swell at Cronulla on Saturday 10/3/12. Solid 4 to 6 foot all along the beach with plenty of waves early morning for the good crowd. So every one had a good weekend. keep up the good pictures. Regards David Avni
