After a couple of hours and a hungry tummy we were soon down at the local Cafe for a coffee or two before taking a short drive across the highway to one of our favourite mat sliding breaks Shark Point

Pulling up in the carpark and seeing only a couple of vehicles we thought there couldn’t be much happening?

Wrong….plenty of swell, offshore and with just one other Long Boarder in the water it didn't take us long to  ‘run ‘ down the track to the rocks and hit the water quick smart. We were soon joined by Phil who went to grab one of his younger mates Brian to join us in the fun.

Where’s Eric??

After a couple of great mat sliding hours out in the water, we were soon in on the rocks, basking in the sunlight when Phil asks …where;s Eric?….looking down the reef a bit we noticed him laying face first on the edge of the reef and slowly getting back up to his feet.

WTF

He soon joined us covered head to toe in shell grit

What happen to you we all asked?

Well as he was working  ‘carefully ‘ across the reef when he slipped and fell face first into the sand…

No wonder Phil said…you should have come in over there!

Does this wetsuit make my arse look big he asked?…

No, but the shell grit makes you look like a Giant Lamington !
