I was lucky enough to have Chris make me a handplane  ( pictured above) with our custom logo a few years back ,and that is when I first got to meet up with him at Jones Beach, and as it turned out I knew his father thru work & surfing and the Jones Beach Board Riders Club, which I was a member

for over 10 years , so I probably met Chris as a little grommet, running around with the other local kids, so it was quite a surprise to find our path's cross many years later and I am so glad it did!

1000 Surfboard Graveyard

1000 Surfboard Graveyard highlighted the thousands of surfboards going to landfill each year. As a surfer and designer, I developed Ecto Handplanes as an innovative way to recycle broken surfboards. Ecto Handplanes are designed with a slight single concave and a carefully balanced volume to make body surfing fast and fun! Ecto (eck-tow) was a nickname, short for 'ectomorph', a term that refers to people with a lean and tall body shape. The name fits perfectly with the long, stretched out body form people must make while bodysurfing. –– Chris Anderson
