Phillip Island continues....Round the Roundabout

Sunday brought the official start to the comp, with a drop in swell size from Saturday , with the weather continuing to hold out with sunny and offshore conditions all day. The next couple of days saw the swell drop down to near flat conditions, with some great surfing still going down in the trying conditions, so it is a real testiment to those who progress thru to the next rounds. I had a few surfs on my mat and had fun snapping a few pics with my cameras, my favorite being the little GoPro camera. I think everybody had a camera of some form, so there should be some good pics of the surfing coming up in the next few weeks. Rob Slater was there to officially record the action for Contest Director Jim Brown , and Michelle and Paul Satchell (pictured below) was there as well snapping away, so give thier website a visit for more pics from the week. http://www.seabreezephotography.com.au/

Great food and kept us fed all week with great salad rolls and quiche's

It was great seeing old friends again and catching up on old times, so while the sun was out and the winds still playing ball, everybody was enjoying the warm sunny conditions and bathwater conditions!

Road Trip to Phillip Island......the fun continues!

Well after leaving early Friday morning for Phillip Island, our first stop was Moruya Breakwall for a surf check. Arriving in the darkness, we could see that the surf was still tiny so off to for a Eden for a pie and coffee, and to do a quick sight seeing trip to the Eden Killer Whale Museum.
After a few more stops to fill up the car, we arrived late Friday afternoon at Phillip Island , and after checking in to the caravan park at Cowes, we hit the pub and caught up with some old friends.

Saturday morning brought beautiful conditions, 4-5ft of swell and clean offshore conditions, with some great surfing on display.Saturday night brought the official opening at Turtle's Rhyll Trout and BushTucker Farm.It was great catching up with old friends and putting faces to names , a good night had by all!
