and Eric da Bolt Bridges joined me for a few little ones amongst the ever growing crowd..I was in the water by 5 am and had some solo gratitude for at least 30 minutes before the onslaught started, so I decided to grab my mask and snorkel and record some underwater surf footage with the new GoPro Black 3+ camera

Looking to buy a good ‘rash shirt’ that is grippy enough to wear without slipping and sliding off your mat or board ?
I can highly recommend this brand and material…WEST wetsuits make this rashie from bamboo and PET plastics, great way to recycle and these rash shirts give me no grief when sliding on my mat or kneeboard in these hot summer conditions. This shirt is a few years old and still in great condition considering that I don't rinse it out and do all the right things that the label recommends….its SCUMM proof!

This documentary is based on a story. It is about two german adventurers and their quest of finding a surfing Zebra in Sumatra. On their way they meet many interesting people and casually discovered the most average wave on this planet. And in the end they may find what they were looking for.

Happy New Year 2014

SCUMM RISE January 1st 2014





I was driving down the highway before the sun came up, and after deciding a early surf was worth more than a sore head, I was pleased to see only one other car parked and 3 guys standing on the lookout.





Well these guys were still celebrating , pissed as fart’s , and so after shaking their hands and wishing them all the best for the New Year , I was soon back at my van, changed and down on the beach by 5.30 am. The surf was only a couple of feet and fairly full , but with nobody else in the water , I made the most of it and decided to mix the surf craft between my trusty air mattress , kneeboard and handplane and gave my new Gopro 3+ a test with the low light , and with different camera angles

I saw the Sun rise from the water , the black swans fly over head to the lake, and heard those noisy cicadas start to rattle and croak from the hilltop and it was another hour before a young kid came running down the beach to end my solo session….nice way to start the year!
