Queens Birthday Long Weekend
Post Covid Times with the government lifting the lock down and travelling restrictions! Throw in a 4 day long weekend and open the gates for all who have been coupes up at home ,and so like flies to a dog shit we were bombarded with visiting travelers and surfers , all the caravan parks were booked out weeks in advance, restaurants and cafes were swamped with people and the money that the visiting tourist inject into the local economy was welcome with open arms.....and then there is us locals who work , live , pay rates and shop here on a daily basis and we are now expected to share , grin and bear it .... congested roads, shops , cafes , beaches & parks , you know all things that the ' visiting tourist ' with money to burn also like ! I can complain all day about it but its not going to change peoples attitude or habits and I admit that I miss the full lock down ! We were all still working , the shops were open, there was no road noise at night and bugger all traffic during the day! There were minimal road accidents so the local paramedics and rescue crews got a rest for a couple of months , the local fauna ( kangaroos & wombats) were not getting ran over by the road traffic at night! The local surf breaks were not congested with hassling & frothing travelling surfers , their carparks were not full of Wicked vans and Winnebagos bursting at the seams with back packers , it was quiet again and the South Coast had a well earned rest after the previous devastating bushfires we had back in December / January ! oh well .....Let the Good Times Roll !

Saturday
It was a super foggy morning and I couldn't see if anyone was out at the Point so was very surprise to see a couple of local mates floating out the back and even more surprise when they decided to paddle away back down the beach leaving me by myself for a a hour or so till a fucking ski and tow surfer appeared and 4 other surfers not far behind them!
