Back in Time

Well at least 2 weeks back…was the last time I have surfed.







Being compressed in this little barrel certainly did not help my neck and back problems, and coming into the Xmas workload rush , has also helped keeping me out of the water!


There's always light at the end of the tunnel though!

older Krypto’s, and with him requesting a green colour , he was lucky that I had some metallic ‘green apple’ tint to finish the job

Another great run of swell and offshore winds this past week

Wednesday

After deciding to give myself a couple of day off from work, and with it coinciding with a large south swell and NE winds, Eric the Bullet and myself headed off in search of good waves……and scored a rather large swell without a lot of punters, in fact it eventually got down to jus myself and my mat Ric in the line-up…must have been a tad big for everybody I suppose, but as you can see in the video below, super clean with big walls for my mat to fly on.

The first hour the crowd was not too bad, so shared a few a couple with Justin and then as more and more people joined us, I went over to the front of the Island for a couple on my own.

Solo Slides at Wreck Bay

After a killer run of waves on my kneeboard, it was time to get back onto my mat and enjoy some solo slides out at my favourite reef break, and with the forecast for next to no swell, I took the punt that the SE wind that blew all day Saturday would push some under lining South Swell in for Sunday morning for a sneaky small mat wave….






Score , only a couple of feet and more of a wind swell, but totally empty , not a soul in sight and clean and offshore…what more could you ask for on a foggy Sunday Morning!

On the Road with Justin Spittle

Today's journey! 4hr drive, 1hr sleep and 3hr mat. Did a first today and pulled the mat plug today. Helped big time as I got to rouge ones on the head.

The banks have been pretty good for the past coupe of months, so after surfing this on the Friday , the call was made for a Mat Attack on Saturday morning. So with a early Southerly change forecast , it was going to be a early raid with the SCUMM boys.

Friday

I must have surfed this left for over 3 hrs Friday morning, then another 2 hrs with Paul in the afternoon. It was breaking from around the corner, next to the rock formation we like to call the CHAIR, right thru to the beach. Such a great mat wave, running the corner at low tide is certainly the best fun, watch the video below to see what I am writing about.

Saturday Morning with SCUMM

A couple of feet smaller than Friday but super clean…shame that everybody else decided to join us, but after surfing this the day before for over 5 hours with no more than 3 people, I was not too fussed about the crowd as I had my fill from the previous day!
