The Fruit Bowl
Myself kicking out last Friday morning…. pic above by Rob Slater
The Swell as been non stop.
Day after Day with offshore winds the Fruit Bowl has provided great waves, and I have had a chance to finally ride a spoon kneeboard and both my mats on some really clean waves.
I caught up with Neal Cameron, Mick Mackie and Richard Palmer last Wednesday for a marathon session of spoon and mat riding and had a great time with my fellow ‘nutters’ as Rob Slater likes to call us…..

Some video action from Wednesday which I recorded with my GoPro camera
Spoon Riding above and Mat riding below
With mostly a local crew out and plenty of waves, it was a fun day and was able to catch half dozen waves on the spoon and kneel straight up from the take off, with only nose diving once and the board pop up right next to me! After that I went in and swapped it for my MT5 Krypt surf mat for some slide action. After surfing that for a couple of hours it was in again to swap for the Fourth Gear Flyer Omni surf mat for a slide out on Sailors , so by late afternoon I was well and truly rooted!

Neal's spoon looks like a space machine!

Thanks Tommy
ReplyDeleteIts been pumping here for weeks now and to see the bay break 7 days straight is nearly unheard of!...Have been having a blast with Neal , hes a great mat rider and gentleman and his spoons and quality to look at and ride! Robbie still cracks me up with his dismay of us riding surf mats and other craft...too funny!!
